I flew on Wednesday to the Mojave Air & Space Port. It's my first time as pilot flying into a licensed spaceport. I've actually been to Mojave many times. And it always seems crazy to drive for 5 hours to a General Aviation airport. (Well, except when the weather wouldn't allow flying there.) So here's some info about the trip...
Mission accomplished. Today I got from San Jose's Reid-Hillview Airport to the Mojave Air & Space Port in 2-1/2 hours flying in a ChickenHawk... errr, no, a Cessna 172 SkyHawk. (I have heard other pilots call them that. And the term is catchy because they're slow.)
Like I said, I go to Mojave a lot. I was visiting my friends at Masten Space Systems.

Photos in Mojave and from the return trip
I posted more pictures on Thursday and Friday. I was supposed to return home Thursday but had to delay it a day due to fog in the Central Valley.
On Thursday Nov 15, there was quite an air show with military maneuvers from nearby Edwards AFB. http://ian.kluft.com/pics/mojave/20071115/
On Friday Nov 16, I flew home. There was still fog in the Central Valley so I went around it along the Coast Range. http://ian.kluft.com/pics/mojave/20071116/
